HONG KONG 1981
We arrived in Hong Kong on June 20th 1981. We were ministering in a church which met in one of the conference rooms of the Furama hotel. It was led by an American missionary called Pastor Brown. The church was at low ebb with only three people in the mid week Bible Study and Brother Brown was very discouraged. It was during that visit that I was asked to smuggle bibles into China, which turned out to be an adventure reminiscent of a spy movie; and just as scary. We felt that the Lord gave us a specific prayer to pray in Hong Kong, similar to the way He gave us a prayer in the case of Darcy in New York, so we stood together and did as we felt led. When we returned to Hong Kong in March 1983 we found an elated Pastor Brown presiding over a thriving church of several hundred people. He took me aside and asked, "When you were here two years ago and Mrs Spademan felt to pray a prayer the Lord had given her, what was it? From that day things changed here in this city. The church has multiplied. I give praise to God, but I also want to thank you people. Whatever you prayed made such an amazing difference and I am grateful for your help." To God be the glory! From Hong Kong we went on to South Korea, then to Thailand. It was not easy, but only eternity will reveal the fruit.
