The Setting Sun

I was once crossing a bridge in Sarasota, Florida and the sun was sinking into the Caribbean Sea in a blaze of crimson glory. I noticed how quickly it was settling into the horizon. Within just a few minutes, it was gone! Only the fiery glow in the evening sky was left to bid farewell to the fading day. It was then that God spoke!
"That is how late the hour is!"
I remember the shock of words which announced not the end of one day, but the end of man's dominion over the earth. They also heralded a new era, beginning with the imminent return of the Saviour of the world. Then the words of scripture came forcibly to mind, "The night comes when no man can work!" and I realised that the season for harvest is already fading in the world. The church of Jesus Christ must realise that time is running out. Our day of opportunity is growing to a close and if the sun now sets and the darkness comes, we will forever regret the wasted years of self indulgence and vain excuses. Jesus said, "Do you not say, there are four months and then comes the harvest? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white already to harvest."
The light has faded now! Even the red glow has disappeared from the sky! Shrouds of spiritual darkness are wrapping themselves around a godless world and unless we move with incredible speed, with hearts burning with a passion which dare not waste a moment, the harvest will be lost and millions who could have been saved will perish.
